Description

The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) educates students in democratic values by actively engaging them as knowledgeable citizens in collaborative partnerships with their campus, local, state, national, and global communities. One of the important aspects of CCE is its connection to its surrounding communities. To that end, the CCE’s student fellows give their time to ongoing community partnerships, including two that involve mentoring and tutoring local students at the secondary (Hempstead High School) and elementary (Barack Obama Elementary School) levels.
