Description

Special Education Graduate Association (SEGA) is a student run and faculty advised graduate student club. SEGA has been active over the years on campus and in the community. A sampling of activities they have led include: hosting research poster sessions in special education and applied behavior analysis, participating in community fundraisers to raise money for individuals with autism, hosting disability awareness film festivals on campus both full festivals and shorts film festivals, visiting program like St. Mary’s children’s hospital. SEGA has hosted a number of presentations by individuals with disabilities, family members and professionals. SEGA has also co-hosted a number of events with Autism Speaks holding townhall events on important topics such as sibling research in autism detection and the use of gene splicing and DNA with individuals with autism. Lastly, SEGA has partnered with the council for exceptional children in several on-campus events.
